2013 Property Tax Due Dates
The 2013 Summer tax, levied on July 1,2013 is payable
without interest through August 31, 2013. Beginning on September
1, 2013, balances due will accrue interest at the rate of one per
cent (1%) per month, calculated on the first day of each month.
Because August 31, 2013 falls on a weekend, payments received on
September 2, 2013 will be credited as timely.
Partial payments are accepted.
The 2013 Winter Tax, levied on December 1, 2013,
is due on Friday, February 28, 2014. All taxes unpaid at the close
of business on February 28, 2014 will be payable, with interest
and fees, to the Macomb County Treasurer. Tax payments mailed, with
a postmark date of February 28, 2014 or earlier, will be accepted
at the City of Utica if received no later than March 7, 2014.
2013 Summer Tax Deferral
Summer taxes may be deferred without interest until
February 15, 2014 if the following criteria are met:
Gross household income for 2013 did not exceed $40,000,
62 years of age or older, including the unmarried
surviving spouse of a person who was 62 years of age or older at
the time of death, or
Paraplegic, Hemiplegic, or Quadriplegic, or
Eligible Service person, Eligible Veteran, Eligible
Widow or Widower, or
Blind Person, or
Totally and Permanently Disabled.
The Application for Deferment of Summer Taxes (Michigan
Department of Treasury Form 471) may be obtained at City Hall or
on-line at the website of the Michigan Department of Treasury. http://www.michigan.gov/treasury
