Treasury
and Finance oversee cash receipts and disbursements,
financial reporting, investments, and tax billing and collections.
The Treasurer oversees the operation of the senior citizen
housing facility and serves as Treasurer of the Police and
Fire Retirement System's Board of Trustees. The Treasurer also
assists the payroll department with pension and tax reporting.
Treasury
and Finance are forever in debt to the Clerk's office and
its staff for assistance with cash receipting, tax collections
and inquiries.

2010 Propery Tax Due Dates
The 2010 Summer tax, levied on July 1,2010 is payable
without interest through Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Beginning on
September 1,2010, balances sue will accrue interest at the rate
of one per cent (1%) per month, calculated on the first day of each
month.
Partial payments are accepted.
The 2010 Winter Tax, levied on December 1, 2010,
is due on Monday February 28, 2011. All taxes unpaid at the close
fo business on February 28, 2011 will be payable, with interest
and fees, to the Macomb County Treasurer. Tax payments mailed, with
a postmark date of February 28,2011 or earlier, will be accepted
at the City of Utica if received no later than March 7, 2011.
2010 Summer Tax Deferral
Summer taxes may be deferred without interest until
February 15, 2011 if the following criteria are met:
Gross household income for 2009 did not exceed $40,000,
and
62 years of age or older, including the unmarried
surviving spouse of a person who was 62 years of age or older at
the time of death, or
Paraplegic, Hemiplegic, or Quadriplegic, or
Eligible Service person, Eligible Veteran, Eligible
Widow or Widower, or
Blind Person, or
Totally and Permanently Disabled.
The Application for Deferment of Summer Taxes (Michigan
Department of Treasury Form 471) may be obtained at City Hall or
on-line at the website of the Michigan Department of Treasury. http://www.michigan.gov/treasury

DOG
LICENSE PROCEDURES
Dog licenses will no longer be issued from each
municipality.
Residents will be responsible for either mailing in or stopping
in at their
nearest Animal Shelter, with a completed application and appropriate
rabies and spay/neuter documentation. Residents will now have until
April 30th each year to obtain their dog licenses, on May 1st they
will
be delinquent. Dog License Applications will be available at City
Hall.
