In
March, 2001 the City Council for the City of Utica along with the
Mayor began the steps required to create a Brownfield Redevelopment
Authority in the City in accordance with the provisions of Act 381
of the Public Acts of the State of Michigan of 1996, as amended.
The City Council has determined that it is in the best interest
of the public to promote the redevelopment of environmentally distressed
areas of the City. The Brownfield Redevelopment Authority would
encourage the development of certain sites, which have not been
developed due to a variety of reasons.
The Mayor recommended the appointment of five (5) individuals and
the City Council concurred with the recommendations. The Brownfield
Redevelopment Authority consists of Nancy M. Kort, Chairperson,
Derek Diaz, Vice-Chair, Jerry Baker, Jacqueline K. Noonan, M. Catherine
McGrail, Secretary.
All Brownfield meetings are open to the public and are held in the
Council Chambers of the Municipal Building on the first Thursday
of each month
at 4:30 p.m.
